Other Practice Areas
We represent people in a wide variety of employment-related issues:
Sexual Harassment In The Workplace : There are two types of sexual harassment that can occur in the workplace, as recognized by California law:
Race Harassment And Discrimination: Race harassment can take a wide variety of forms ranging from inappropriate humor to intimidation and even physical violence. What may start out as a minor incident can quickly escalate if not addressed thoroughly and immediately.
Disability Discrimination: California employers have their obligations spelled out in the Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Gender/Sex Discrimination: Despite all the progress we have seen in the past 60 years with the Civil Rights Movement and groundbreaking legal victories like the Civil Rights Act of 1964, many women are still treated much differently than their male counterparts in the workplace.
Pregnancy Discrimination: Using either direct or circumstantial evidence, we can show evidence of discriminatory bias either when an employee is fired (see Wrongful Termination), or when an employer refuses to hire or promote a person based on his or her pregnancy.
Wrongful Termination: Employees can be fired from their job for any number of reasons; however, one of the most common claims we see from our clients involves employer retaliation. No one should have to fear losing his or her job for doing the right thing.
Overtime And Wage And Hour Claims: San Francisco is known to have the highest minimum wage in the nation — currently $12.55 an hour, as of May 1, 2015. California’s minimum wage is at $9 an hour as of July 1, 2014. We represent people who are not being paid fairly according to the law.
Severance Negotiation: We have negotiated very lucrative severance packages for many of our clients, ranging from regular employees at small businesses to CEOs and executives at some of the nation’s largest companies — including Fortune 500 firms and technology giants in Silicon Valley.
